Deep Tissue Massage & Trigger Point Therapy
“Deep Tissue Massage" is a stronger, deeper massage technique designed to relieve stress deep in your muscles. If you have chronic pain or tension, or a stubborn condition or injury that has not responded well to other techniques, this type of massage might be perfect for you.

This technique may also be an excellent choice for anyone suffering from chronic pain conditions, such as fibromyalgia. The strokes are slower and stronger, applying deep, direct pressure to your muscles.
Deep Tissue Massage & Trigger Point Therapy can help with chronic pain
Many West Palm Beach people have painful, rigid areas (or bands) deep in the muscles and connective tissues. This painful rigidity can also occur in the tendons and ligaments. This not only causes pain, but also inhibits circulation and movement, limiting range of motion, and can even cause inflammation and swelling. Deep tissue massage involves slow, gradual, firm pressure applied by the therapist’s hands, forearms, elbows and knuckles, to loosen and release the troublesome areas causing this pain.
Trigger Point massage therapy applies concentrated pressure to areas of chronic or severe pain in the muscles, called “trigger points.” With the proper pressure, duration and location, immediate release of tension and improved muscular functioning can occur. Trigger point massage has been known to diminish migraine pain, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome and other pain syndromes.
Is deep tissue massage painful?

Those unfamiliar with massage sometimes believe that a deep tissue massage will be painful. This couldn’t be farther from the truth. During any session, we encourage you to communicate your comfort level with the massage therapist. It’s never necessary to suffer!
Deep tissue massage may cause some discomfort as the massage therapist releases long-standing tight adhesions deep in your body’s connective tissues, but only to a level that is acceptable to you.
The therapist can also employ different techniques or modalities on different areas of your body, saving the deepest treatment for only the most troublesome areas.
If you have a condition you believe could benefit from a deep tissue massage please contact our office and allow us to develop a treatment plan especially for you.
