What to Expect at Physicians Wellness Care, Inc.

At Physicians Wellness Care, Inc. we make every effort to make your first experience comfortable. As one of many chiropractors in West Palm Beach, Dr. Sabrina Morgen feels a duty to explain exactly what you can expect in our office.

Your First Visit

We recommend that you arrive 15 minutes early for your first appointment to complete the required paperwork, or you may download our health history forms here. A complete health history is the first step for any new chiropractic patient.

We will ask about old injuries, chronic problems, your sensitive and painful areas and when did the pain start? In addition the doctor will inquire about your family history, dietary habits, job or work habits, and previous treatments for the condition.

Consultation & Examination

Once you complete the health history forms you will meet with Dr. Morgen who will answer any questions and address any concerns you may have. She will then complete a full examination, which will consist of palpation of the spine (feeling the muscles for abnormalities), range of motion testing, posture analysis, various orthopedic and neurological tests. With this exam the doctor can feel areas of your spine that may be involved with Vertebral Subluxation problems.

X-rays

Dr. Morgen will also take any necessary X-rays she feels are needed. There are many reasons we may not take x-rays on certain patients, including pregnancy, age, recent usable spinal x-rays and some other various situations. Aside from these situations, X-rays are a common part of our examination process.

Virtually all chiropractors in West Palm Beach will agree that X-rays will tell us the relative length of time subluxations may have been involved in your spine.

X-rays can be also be quite helpful for many other reasons, including:

• Provide a structural record of your spine
• Rule out cancer, disease or other pathologies
• Locate fractures or other signs of trauma
• Identify evidence of long term spinal decay
• Confirm other examination findings

Your Second Visit - Report of Findings

At the second visit, you are given a review of Dr. Morgen's findings, during which the results of the examination are explained in detail. If Dr. Morgen feels chiropractic will help you, then she will recommend a treatment plan. Treatments will be tailored to your specific needs along with the recommendations made for treatment. She will also go over any special instructions you will need to obtain the best and fastest possible results. We have set aside specific times for these visits so as not to interfere with regular patient care hours. Our front desk staff will schedule your Report of Findings with you after your first visit. Your first adjustment is usually performed following the review of findings. Additional adjunctive therapies may also be provided at this time. These may include cold laser therapy, acupuncture or deep tissue massage.
